Is there any issue with doing this with regard to the airbags in them etc? (i.e. not setting them off!)

the car is an 03 WRX so has airbags in the side of the seat.

didn't have a problem on my02 wrx, but I don't have air bags in the front seats

didn't realise that you could get that option on a my03

 

if it does have airbags, disconnect the battery for 30 mins and then unplug the connector, connect, then put the battery back, or you may have to have the light reset by a dealer.

 

will disconnecting the battery have any adverse effect other than loosing the clock setting? :P all 03s have the side airbags, UK ones anyway, and the seats arent as huggy as the 02s...

 

anything else i should be aware of? does anybody know how much each 03 seat actually weighs?

 

it may reset the ecu, but after a short drive, all will be fine. Not sure how much they weigh, i've got a classic, why do you ask?

 

well i just want to know how much weight im going to be saving by taking the rear seats, passenger seat, door cards, spare wheel etc for track use. Ive been on track with all these in so want to know the rough weight diff its going to make. (and at the same time not set any airbags off etc
