Question Tick, tick, tick

As per title, this is the noise I can hear coming from the speedo or at least something in that area. Not a big problem obviously but bloody annoying, I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting the speedo cable from the back of the intrument display as the ticking gets faster as you increase speed so assumed it was something to do with this but no change

The car is a MY93 WRX, anybody got any ideas how to stop it ticking?

Well I'm glad to hear I'm not alone on this one, does anybody have any ideas how to get rid of the noise?

Is it worth trying a new speedo cable?
