Default Lateral FMIC & Rad help

I have spoke to Mark and he said it was fine to post it up here.

Does anyone have the Lateral FMIC and rad for the earlier scoob, say pre 97? I bought the FMIC and rad from Pat who had it on his legacy. Now when we have put it on ours, the fan is extremely close to the fanbelt. Its basically sitting on it.

Now we have filed it down, and also pulled the FMIC and rad a bit further forward to make it clear, but is still very tight. Has anyone else had this problem? Speaking to tweeneirob he mentioned putting another pulley in there which will pull the fan belt away and thus not touch the fan. So thats one option.

Also, the Rad seems to sit near enoguh on the aftermarket headers. Anyone found this?

It seems like my rad has a leak and has now put the project on hold which is annoying. Seem to have found the small hole leaking though so should be able to get it sorted. But now im thinking about sending the rad off to a specialist and seeing if they can maybe copy Laterals Rad so I can still keep it with the Lateral FMIC. Ive heard Pace is pretty good with rads. Anyone disagree?

Loads of questions!

The Lateral FMIC and Rad seems like a quality design and the FMIC fits lovely. So far Ive had 3 FMICS. Ive had HKS, Blitz, and an unknown FMIC and the Lateral FMIC definitely seems to fit the best.

Ive got the prototype one apparently and I suspect thats why there are probs with the Rad and why it sits to close on both the fan belt and the headers but if anyone else has found this, can you drop me an email or post up here.

Cheers

Have you checked out Alan Garrods thread on 22b ? He made up a different tensioner set up for the belt IIRC.

Well Rad is coming back.

There was 3 leaks on the poxy thing! The company has apparently sorted it and has now pressure tested it and seems fine.

But think it may have to go and Ill speak to Pace about getting one made up
