Default "Normal" peak boost pressure MY02 STI

Unfettered STI ( 265bhp). I get 1.27 HKPA which is about 18 psi as a peak reading from the R Vit connected to ODB port.

Is that what would be expected?

If it's measuring manifold relative pressure then yes, that's what you'd expect.

The std sensor has a range of 2.55Bar but when reading relative it puts atmospheric pressure at the centre of it's range. 2.55/2 = 1.27 (rounded down) so that's as much as it can read. If you can reconfigure it I would suggest you look at absolute pressure which will therefore read up to 2.55Bar, all you have to do is subtract 1 from it to get the real relative most tend to use assuming that the air pressure is 1.0 that day. The ECU is trying to achieve an absolute pressure so it's a better measure anyway.

Thumbs up

Thanks Mike - you've cleared this up for me now. It peaks at this ( c 3.7-4k) then settles back to about 1.06 HKPA through the rest of the range.

'fraid I let my paranoia get the better of me - thinking the car was overboosting and I was heading for much expense !!
