Default 05 STI KNOCKING SOUND

i have had this car for about a month i has done about 1,200 miles, when i go very slow around a corner, a round a about or reverse into a parking space there is a knocking and clicking sound coming from the back end it also seems to scrub the back tyres, i have just spoken to someone who thinks he might know whats wrong and he said it might be the rear LSD
and they are supposed to do that, but i dont think this can be right.
it is going in for the first service tomorrow so i could do with some ideas in case the dealer trys to fob me off.
Thanks. karl

the Limited slip diff will "torque" up and then release with a click when a certain torque figure is reached. they are meant to do it.
Admitedly some I have seen have been a little noisier than others but they all do click to some extent! this is because the torque setting may be slightly tighter from one diff to another.
Here's the bit that makes all the clicking.

should it just click once? cause this one clicks all the way out of the corner and will the LSD cause the back tyres to scrub.

constant clicking as you turn.
The tighter the diff is set the more it will scrub the tyres.
If it didn't click it would scrub your tyres a hell of a lot more.

can the dealer alter the diff or slacken it, or should it be left alone

I wouldn't let a dealer anywhere near it IMO.
