96 WRX tweak but standard look
Got a 96 import wrx...totally standard, no mods at all. If I wanted to keep it totally standard looking, ie no big air filter, or big back box, what mods could I do to cost-effectively extract a little more power.
Can I use other down-pipes, exhaust sections but keep back box?
Can I re-map?
Any ideas as I am new to Subaru's.
Also I constantly read about front and rear drop link replacement, and uprated anti-roll bars. Is this the tried and tested way to better handling but keeping the standard look and heights?
Thanks

My car looks and sounds standard but puts out quite a bit more power than standard.
Get a decatted downpipe and resonated centre box for a MUCH quicker spool-up, more power but not too much noise. I use an STi backbox as I think it looks much better, but this is still quiet.
For even more power get a remap. Again, will not be able to tell from the outside, although you will need boost gauge when setting it up.
For handling get a 4-wheel alignment done as well as bump-steer mod from powerstation. The droplinks and anti-roll bars are probably a good idea but have no experience with them.
Oh, get good tyres too. Toyo T1-R's or Eagle F1's.
Is it a slanty intercooler (ie early 96) or a facelift square intercooler?
