i recently bought my first scooby (97 turbo 2000). thing is, i havent had a turbo b4 so i dont realy understand them. i was told the car is running 14psi boost, yet wen i floor it my boost gauge seems to be away up in the twentys. does that make sense? is this normal? Also should i reduce the boost in winter coz of the cold air? sorry if this sounds like a lot of crap, im just a bit paranoid about blowing it up.

Either it's got a bad fault...The boost gauge is fuked...Orr

The boost has been raised to a level were the engines gonna last a week.It would be seriously quick at that level not for long mind but.Does it feel mega fast?

 

dump valve, exhaust and air filter. should the gauge read no more than the boost is set?

 

Sounds like a faulty boost gauge to me. Your car should be round 12 to 14 psi i would of thought

 

wouldn't take that risk - if your wastegate stuck closed etc. then you're gonna have some serious metal ornaments verrrry soon.

 

its ****in quick, but im new to this car so its gonna feel that way. i reckon the gauge is ****ed or im not understanding it sumhow.
