Just pulled up at my abode after a normal drive (not thrashing it) and after getting out of the car i immediately heard a loud hissing noise coming from the front of the car. My first thought was a puncture in one of my tyres but they were ok. I lifted the bonnet and it is definately coming from somewhere under the bonnet, it seems to be n/s/f area. It wasnt losing any kind of fluid but it was definately a pressure thing as it eventually got less loud and then stopped.

Any ideas at all what could have caused this and what checks should i now do/things to look out for. I shall be using the motor in the morning for work

Last time I had a hissing like that one of the air con pipes near the battery of my MY02 bugeye had gone !!

hate to say it but it was something to do with the neons !!

I must admit that i thought it was coming from around that area so you could be right with your diagnosis.

Would it make a difference though that i never actually use the aircon?

Have drove the car a few times since and all appears normal although i shall be continually assessing the situation.
