Default How to tell if your car has already been re-mapped

Is there any way of telling if a car has already been remapped, are there any physical signs i can look for.

depends on the age, older cars may have had a extra chip placed on the ecu main board, newer cars just change the data within a chip on the ecu so no you can not see anything

cheers

its a 01 bugeye, seems to have about 25 hp more than it should and fueling seems to be too spot on at high boost to be standard.

If you have a boost gauge it should be peaking at around 1.3 and not 0.9 like the standard.

Does it have Samco hoses? as these will be needed if you are running higher boost.

Are you sure its not just the exhaust mod that you may have on the car, 25bhp isnt much of a gain for a re-map.

How do you know you are getting 25 bhp more power ??????
