Unhappy Blown turbo.....! Help

After some advice really?

Have a MY99 turbo (well lack of now!) , done about 75k and the turbo went bang. was doing just over (ahem) 70 on the m/way noticed loss of power and then after about 10 seconds blue smoke billowing from the back, so stamped on the brakes straight into hard-shoulder and turned her off, was worried how quickly the oil was burning off....

My questions are (now had it confirmed its the turbo thats blown);

* Apparently they can be repaired, does anybody have any experiance of this?

* Will it have damaged anything else? I've been told if its run dry then the engine is damaged (pretty sure it hasn't as there was oil pouring onto the hard shoulder for a while after I turned it off)

* Does anybody have the model of the turbo? I know its something like TD04, but not sure if that is the one for my model?

* Finally, Don't suppose anybody has one for sale????????

Would really appreciate some help as I just want to understand exactly what has gone on and whether I should start selling Big Issue's......

Cheers

Obviously you want to get it sorted out and get another blower on there shapish but you need to look at why your current one went bang as well, ie was there a problem with the oil pump, a blockage in the oil line etc etc.

Seeing as you've got to change it maybe it's time for an upgrade once you find out the cause of the problem and sort that out?
