Default Fitted new chip -car running badly. Ideas?

Just got my Voschip* (secondhand) and installed it straight away. Not good so far but I'm sure this is a fault with my car and that the chip itself is fine.

After some meddling around between 2 ECUs I THINK I've got the cause of the previous error 45 down to either a leak in the line to the boost gauge or a dodgy ECU connection. Can't be certain but at present there's no error....

SO. Fitted the chip whilst the engine was at normal temp and the moment I began driving it I noticed it felt just like the U8 WRX ECU I have which always made the car run like crap. Now I always assumed there was something weird going on with that impreza ecu but the G7 legacy one with the voschip fitted does pretty much the same thing.

Basically the car feels quite sluggish and whilst I can feel/hear a fair bit of boost building up it's just not making the car move, and if I really plant my foot down then I can see the odd black cloud in the rear view mirror!!! As I said it's behaving almost identically to the wrx ecu which was boosting but no go, struggling up hills and running mentally rich.

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the chip and suspect not with that other ECU now either so what else could be causing this klind of behaviour? There are NO error codes showing by the way.

Oh yeah, finally, nearly forgot! After driving the car for ten minutes or so I'm SURE it began to behave a little better, still not good but a touch better. It still feels quite gutless at anything less than 3500-4000 even though you can tell it's boosting but when up in the higher revs I think it's improved a tiny bit. Should there be any kind of "settling in" period after fitting it or does it take a while to sort itself out somehow?

Thanks!

*TD05 version apparently, car has TD05, 3" full decat pod filter & intake plenum, walbro pump, FSE adjustable fuel reg, bosch conversion, ngk pfr6b plugs, currently running the standard boost control solenoid etc.

You did cut the j1 resitor on the ecu to activate the chip didnt you?

Yeah it already was cut from previously having a chip in it.

Think I've found the problem - the hose from the turbo to the boost solenoid had a split in it so it was leaking loads of boost.
It's still not perfect I don't think but it's way better now. Onwards & upwards!

The chip overides whatever ECU it is in G7, U8, Z4 whatever so would run the same on either.

Did you have the negative on the battery terminal disconnected?

Thought you were gonna fix the faults in the car before fitting?

Hope you get it sorted matey

It's getting there mate but I think there's still a bit of room for improvement yet...

Thanks again for pasking it so well to make sure it arrived safely. Much appreciated.

If it was on Ebay you'd be getting very good feedback mate.
