I will hopefully be getting my 02 WRX re-mapped in the near future, it has full de-cat, new headers and a larger turbo on the way

Question is when i have fitted the above and had it remapped to get the most out of the mods, when i add more modds doen the line, will i have to spend another £500 - £600 on remaps.

Or is part of the initial cost of the first re-map to change something? I obviously have no idea. Help

thats the initial price should be rather cheaper following on from that.....

 

Im assuming that they do change something on your first map then!

there is a licence purchased in the initial cost, after that, dont need a new licence. The mapper will probaly also give you a discount if you take your car back - they already have the map from previous sessions and can just modify that which is quicker hence cheaper (usually!)

 

If your getting a Ecutec remap then the first time is done you have to buy a licence for the software used, then subsequent map are cheaper as you already own a licence.

 

Does it matter if you go to a different place after the initial remap or isthe licence fee for the car, which would mean i could go anywhere that does ECUTEK??

 

the 1st 1 is dear . . around 600-700
then you have your 'licence' which is about half

ive had 3 maps ow,all tek3's,,,1st 1 by someone then 2nd and 3rd by the same bloke
the 2nd was 350 and the 3rd was 150 cuz i went back to him
4th 1 is due 1st weekend of july for another 150

ive had so many cuz i keep adding as well.

 

Wow £350 for the 2nd sounds pretty high to me - how long did it take him?

 

iirc BRD charge £650ish for the 1st 9will also do a deal on group buys ) & £150 for any further remaps to the same car.

 

All you need to add to your list of mods is an STI top mount, STI injectors and uprated fuel pump and you should be looking at approx 310-320 BHP. I'd get these first and have one re-map, pointless paying out again when you have most of the parts needed.

If you want to go further than that you'd best have a word with Ninnybobs or Midlife
