Default More power from standard backbox than prodrive???

Just fitted a prodrive backbox and I love the sound.

I am not sure, but the car might feel a little less torquey than before. It might be just that I expect more go with the sound and it is just a psychological effect, or perhaps I have removed some beneficial back pressure.

Any ideas?

The car is a 94 WRX running about 15psi on a TD05 with full decat. The backbox I took off was a standard Sti one, which was much quieter.

Before if I floored it in 2nd at 3000 rpm, there would be some lag and then the turbo would pull hard. Now it seems more gradual. Perhaps I have more torque lower down in the range so just don't notice the turbo come in so hard? Or perhaps it just doesn't pull so hard.
