Problem? wrongly fitted timing belt
Have a 1995 wrx wagon (70000miles only) running decat exhaust and scooby ECU chip.
Car running fine - had a crank seal leak so decided to get the timing belt done also ( approx. 10 days ago). Car running very well - all seems well and covered 250miles.
Wife drives the car and on slight acceleration in 3rd gear, total loss of power and engine stalls. Dash lights up, no noise or smoke.
Towed to garage that did timing belt - they checked belt/tensioner and said all appeared well. Left cylinder head pressure low and ?valves stuck.
Told need to get manifold / cylinder head off.
I just wonder is it possible the timing belt was not set up properly and jumped or could it be something else by chance? The more I read about scooby timing belts and changing them on the internet it seems the left cylinder heads valves are the most vulnerable.
Appreciate all help.
