Default How to tell if Boost Solenoid is knackered?

How do i know if the boost solenoid is knackered?? What symptoms would I get??? The car seems ok after its warmed up, but is a bit gerky on the old boost when cold, but LOADS of people of posted the same thing. I took it off over the weekend and sprayed brake cleaner into the two tubes, and into the solenoid, and turned the ignition on etc etc, but no fluid come 'spraying out' Not too sure what to expect, so I thought I'd ask the experts on here

Cheers

BTW, it an MY99 UK

One symptom of a buggered solenoid that I've seen is it just clicks all the time. (tick tick tick tick ~ ) It's pretty audible when the bonnet open.

I thought all of the boost soleniods on the classics were a bit noisy (e.g. noticably ticked on idle)?

You have to connect the green conectors when you clean it, then it will start to spray crap out of the solonoid
