Hi. My first ever post and it starts with HELP!!
Hello,
I'm the proud recent owner of a 1996 Imported WRX Wagon. Wot a great mota. Was driving superbly till..... Well, it kinda feels like its holding back a little. It seems to have a bit of a cough, then it feels fine (this only happens when I give it a wee boot). Also, when slowing down, as soon as the clutch is pressed in, the revs dive right down to nothing (has cut out completly on occasion), then hunts around for a bit before finally settling. I've read through other post on this site with similar symptoms, and it looks like it could be the MAF? Anyone got any other ideas? Can anyone reccomend somewhere good around either the Windsor area or Basingstoke area that can fix/service the Wagon??
Thanks
Malibu

Could be the MAF, or possibly a leak somewhere round the inlet manifold, does your car have the original airbox? as they sometimes can crack at the smaller pipe inlets. I'd highly recomment Len at Subaru4You if you want it check out though http://www.subaru4you.co.uk.

Cheers Bruce, I think the cars airbox is the original one. What pipes should I be looking at to see if they are cracked? I'm not much of a mechanic unfortunatly!
Cheers for the link. I'll have a look at the website now.
Thanks

I dont have the standard induction on my car anymore, but from memory it was a small 1/2 inch pipe going back from the manifold area to the airbox, the airbox can sometimes fracture where the pipe joins to the airbox.
