How many Lambdas ?
Hi ,
When I removed the engine , I discovered a second lambda sensor on the lower part of the rhs exhaust manifold. It had snipped wires, and my wiring loom didn't seem to have an associated connector.
(I did have the (normal?), lambda sensor on the up pipe)
My Car is a 1998 UK Turbo, and it has had an "engine rebuild" at some point, according to previous owner.
Could it be that this sensor is just sitting on the manifold because the manifold is from another car where the lambda sensor was in a different position ?
Cheers - Mark

Sounds like at the first rebuild they've used an earlier model downpipe where the lambda sat lower down. Usually just blocked off.
MY98 lambda should be directly behind the turbo.

Classics share the same exhaust lay out so parts are interchangable.(Some import STi's only have one cat in the dp and a resonator in the middle)
Most aftermarket decat pipes on classics have both holes to accomodate lambdas.
One needs to be blocked off depending on MY
