two sensors on exhaust??

two sensors on exhaust??
ive got two sensors on my exhaust system 1 is on the up pipe (lambda i think) and the other is on the bottem of the downpipe(which is a 3" one) its much skinnyer than the other and its connected up to somewere with a braided type wire cover on it two wires i think any ideas what it is??? my car is a my94 wrx sti cheers will
