Lightbulb TMIC on classic Slanted > newer intercooler

i have a 1994 WRX...

Its got the slanted intercooler and i want to put the bigger one (NOT NEWAGE)

Just the one off a 1997ish i think... Black rectangle one...............

The new one doesnt have a bit off the Y piece for the dump valve but has the little pipe out the front! can i put the dump valve on there???

Or do i need to blank that off and modify the Y piece to fit it???

Cheer

I have just done this myself mate on my MY93 and I cut the pipe you have marked off, had a blanking plate welded over it.

I used the Samco for the slanty that I had but had to cut it shorter, I also ground down the throttle body and took a small amount off the IC as well for it to fit.

you can put the dumpvalve on the intercooler but it will be very tight against your idle control valve so you'll need either a large mallet or a newer inlet manifold where the ICV is moved over a bit.. and obviously you'll have to block up the old dumpvalve hole.

believe me - *this* way may turn out to be the harder way.

You cant put the dv on the intercooler. that pipe has to come off. There is no way you will get it in with it on. Its very tight with it off, but dont give up , If I can do it anybody can. Your next problem is the brackets are all wrong and your inner bonnet scoop cowelling needs changing. Good luck

yeah you need the later undertray and if you can get the lefthand side bracket off the later model that the IC came off thet will fit but you will need to make a custom bracket for the right side
