Talking loud exhaust.

hi all.
i have been getting complaints from a niebour just to spitefull.he says its too loud.is there any exhausts out there that are as good performance as the hayward and scott rear box and centre pipe? but not as loud.i dont want to loose performance but may need to get quiter.i think the council is coming round with a noise meter.anyone know what the noise level should be?

i was after a stainlees stell one.otherwise it would be a good idea.if anyone is intrested in swapping i might be intrested.

If it's like a track day he will go to the back of the car and tell you to give it 3/4's throttle, just give it half (he'll never know)

By your above post you have only changed the centre and backbox, so i would imagine it is not that loud.

i have changed the downpipe,headers ,uppipe,centre ,downpipe,backbox.

Try my first point then.

Be interesting to do a new post when the council comes round for future reference. Detail what happened and what they did.

just buy a bung for the backbox for when the council want to test it plus since there is no legal issue for you to let the council test it just mess them about

i managed to get a bung for the exhaust today.its alot quiter trhan before.even i like the new sound.it used to give me a headache before on long journeys.i have been informed that from the council that it aint my car specificly that is making the noise.one of the complaints is about the car running after i get out.the counbcil said they have no issues about that at all and they will only comne out and test the noise at his house between 9 and five.which im in bed as i work nights and he is at work.i feel alot better knowing this.
