Whatever tracker is fitted will need to be registered with that manufacturer only, they all have they're own system.

But, if you don't need it for insurance I wouldn't bother, if soneone nicks it, do you really want it back?

Find a different insurer m8

There are loads out there that don't insist on having 1, and tbh the ones that don't ask for it, are usually the same price as the companies that do want it.

I live in the same area (well, WD postcode) and there are insurance co's who will quote without a tracker and only a little more expensive (Norwich Union Direct, was one IIRC). Try Confused.com for a range of quotes.

Still had a Trackstar fitted though, as I was going to buy a GPS Gatso detector anyway. Would recommend it!

Im with a company through Firebond and I have fully comp on my STi without a tracker.

The car has a tracker on it, but I didn't tell them, as they never asked for it, and if I didn't renew the sub on it and it was then stolen they wouldn't pay out.

Besides if my car was nicked I wouldn't want it back

Try greenlight insurance...tracker only required on cars valued over £15k. Got a 01 wrx ppp insured with them for £757 and have chosen not to declare the tracker on my car as

1. it doesnt reduce the premium and

2. waste of £110 annual fee for tracker......if it gets nicked then the thiefs can keep it, I dont want it back.
