changing oil question

changing oil question
im about to change the oil and filter on my 2000 turbo scoob but ive herd a few things on here that theres a proper way to do it to avoid damage,could anyone tell me the rite way to do it plz, do i have to fill the filter first?

Try a search on the subject, there are LOTS of threads about this.
My method is:
Engine should be warm
Remove old filter and drain oil
Fill new filter with oil to the top and refit
Pour in oil to bottom notch on dip stick
Remove crank sensor and turn engine over for a few seconds
Refit crank sensor and start engine, check tightness of sump plug
Job done.

Fill the oil filter before fitting...Some people disconnect the crank sensor and turn the engine over untill the oil pressures up,others dont..Dont overfill the oil either its the second from the bottom on the dipstick not the top notch thats for full level when hot.Dont go out and rag the car after youve changed the oil...
