Default Apexi Power FC Settings?

I'd be grateful for any help or pointers anyone can give me with Commander settings for a MY98.

Had my car in a local garage getting some bits and pieces sorted over the past week, basically preparing it for the upcoming SVA.

Anyway, collect it this morning and taking it down the street, it's running no where near the way it was when I took it in. I know the guys in the garage, went back and asked if they'd been messing with the commander settings and of course they said they hadn't. I had a quick look at the commander setting before I went in to the garage and I know the ones I'd saw have changed.

Anyhoos - can anyone point me to a source where I can get the optimal or near optimal settings to enter into the commander?

Cheers,

Rob

Hi,

I'll go back through the menu but at first glance the idle values had changed ( they were the easiset to remember) and the ignition timing. I'm pretty sure some of the others have been changed too.

I took the car around the block tonight just to see if it was an intermittent problem and the car won't rev above 4000 - It's like the rev limiter is set at 4k but its not.

Can anyone give me any help / suggestions on this?

Cheers,

Rob.

I wonder if they have changed the MAF sensor settings. I've seen this a few times now, and is possibly down to unexperienced users viewing the different settings without realising that they have changed some of the settings.

The moral of this story, is do NOT leave your commander in the car when you leave it with a third party.

That's a fair comment and certainly something to bear in mind (removing the commander).
I know looking at the commander changing settings could quite easily be done without realising and I guess that's whats happened.

I've got the SVA and MOT coming up and the last thing I need is a dodgy set-up.

Anyone got any suggestions or can point me in the right direction?

Took the car for its MOT today and it failed on emissions - the guy said they were through the roof. He didn't charge me for the failure but also didn't provide a failure sheet so I'm not sure what the failure was on though he had me revving the engine at a constant speed.

Looks like I'm gonna have to get it booked in somewhere to get checked out.
May even suggest the Apexi is removed as it might fail the SVA if hawk-eye spots it.

Look and see which option you are on in Settings/airflow. It should be option 1 for standard induction or option 2 for an induction kit, assuming that when the car was mapped nothing funny was done to the airflow tables. That's the easiest setting to accidentally change which can make a huge difference to the applied fuelling and ignition timing

Thanks for the reply.

Initially it was set to option 2, running at 104% for first 4 settings and then down to 103% for remaineder.
There was a K&N on the car which I replaced with a standard one for the SVA test.
I then changed the setting to option 1 for standard air filter but it made no difference.
Standard setup had settings starting at 103% for first 4.

Let me know if this makes sense, I can get all settings if anyone has the time to look through them.

Cheers,

Rob

perhaps its not impossible for the MAF itself to have been damaged during whatever work has been done??

SiHethers was good enough to take a look at the PowerFC setup last night and confirmed that the settings were within normal ranges.

He also gave me a few ideas of possible causes of the problems too. Gonna start off with the easy / inexpensive ones first - Plugs.

Cheers,

Rob.
