Default which Mobil 1 oil for wrx bugeye ?

Hi All,
Which Mobil 1 oil should I be using for a year 2000 wrx bugeye estate ?
Does it really matter ?
The choice in my local Halfords are 0w-40 or 15w-50.
I drive sensibly round the towns and dual carriageways, but if it's a twisty it gets thrashed !! No track days, etc.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Many Thanks.
Graeme.

You want the 15w50, though there are a large number of similar oils in that range that are just as good, Motul 300v for instance.

Thank god for that, i checked my oil for the first time in 10 months!!!! to notice the oil wasnt even registering on the dipstick

Shot down to Halfords and got some Mobil 1 15/50, it took around 3 litres befroe registering, then started to worry if it was the right stuff.

Cookie (will check oil weekly now )

For a bugeye, 5W40 is better (5W30 recommended by owners handbook and used by franchise garages).

I wouldnt put a 5w30 in a turbocharged impreza unless you want problems, it wasnt recommended on any impreza up to 2000 for normal use, it definately isnt recommended for use on JDM cars, inc the WRX.
Id read the small print.

Personally I would use 5w-30 or 5w-40

Cheers
