Default DIY £17 oilcatch tank

I've been planning an oilcatch tank for a while, but the horrible prices charged by Greddy, AEM etc. set me off. I therefore decided to make my own.

An aluminium drink water bottle and plumbing from the local hardware store, total cost £17. Probably even cheaper in the Uk
The "air filter" (a sponge) is a temporary solution until I can find a suitable airfilter.

Looks excellent! I'd pay £20 for one! Where did you get the hosing from and how did you know the dimensions?

Good job! Always a pleasure to see people innovating!

I think its meant to reduce build up of oil in the air intake?? or some place.
Btw, have you got any pics of where the pipes run to/how there connected to the engine?

Thanks

The breathers run back from the rocker boxes/engine crank case and vent into the intake hose so your lovely high octane fuel is shafted by ****ty oil vapours etc:,I have tee'd the rocker pipework together and vented off to atmos through a small breather and also the crankcase hose or you could use an oil catch can.

I have a catch can also, though only have two outputs on it...what is the purpose of the 3rd, which has a filter attached?

Haha, I did a similar rig with an empty tin of paint stripper, I flipped it over, punched holes and soldered in bits of 1/2" curtain rod for the hoses to go on. Cleaned up and painted in textured black bomb spray, then put on the little filter and clear hoses.

Condensation can build up in the rocker covers Etc & give you a Gooey mess in your Oil filler tube, Due to the Gases not re-circulating around the warm engine, especially when venting to atmosphere. More apparent in winter
