Default ECU remap

I'm considering a Tek3 remap for my MY04 STi PPP. Ideally, because of the warranty situation, I thinking of remaping a standard ECU and keeping the PPP one on "standby".

Can anyone tell me what ECU I'd need to look for? By that I mean will a standard WRX ECU from a MY03 or MY04 be ok to use, or does it have to be another MY04 STi version?

Also, any ideas how would have one of these available?

Thanks

Ok then, will a ECU from a JDM STI8/9 be able to be remapped for a UK car?

Might be worth a few phone calls to any of the ecutek mappers, they might know the answer ?
If you find out them please post the answer up as I would like to know this one.
