They'll spend thousands on any old tat. Plenty more ****ty imports flooding in to replace it with, though. Chin up.

Hello mate,

but what i do know is that i have melted a ppiston is it worth giving it a go at replacing the engine/rebuilding it either or???
Ok. So I guess what your saying is that the cars had loads of money spunked on it and now the damn pistons melted. Your thinking "****, I can't flog it 'cos it doesn't work. Even it did work and I was going to flog it, I wouldn't see anywhere near what's been spent on."

I don't see that you have any option but to get it fixed. I should imagine that the bolt on goodies are on the back of standard pistons (internals), in which case your going to want to replace them with uprated items. Then you need to decide whether you want to uprate the crank, bearrings, rods etc.

What's your budget? Do you intend to keep the car once it's been fixed?

One thing I can tell you is it's going to be costly (you know this). If it were me, I'd take a deep breath and get the engine built properly. At least that way you'll be able to make the most of the performance mods the car has, without spending all your time panicking about it giving up again.

Best of luck

J

Just realised I recognised the car. Checked your location and...Plymouth.

Give Allan Jeffrey a call tomorrow on 01752 345880. If he's not there (which he normally is) ask for Martin (his son). And don't know if you know, but Alan's superb with Scoobs. He's had a P1 (alongside a 450bhp XR4X4, Cossies and currently an EVO 6) and his brother Lee (WRX sales on here) sprints Scoobs. He'll tell you exactly what to do and give you options re cost. He won't bull**** you and you can be confident that his advice will be engineering rather than profit based. Just don't take offence at his no nonsense appoach . Seriously, give him the car and let him sort it. I think his prices on Omega Pistons are reasonable by the way.

Let me know how you get on mate,

Green Army
