Default DIY Hybrid turbo`s?

is there any companies who supply the parts needed to build a hybrid turbo?

the topic in group buys about the rebuild kits set me thinking about the possibility of rebuilding my TD05 to a 20g setup, but can anyone supply the necessary parts to the public?

I'm in on the group buy, just looking at the parts included, it says that it's for the TD05/6, so would that kit not do the 20g seeing as thats an 06 turbine housing?? guessing really!!

There's a few companys in the US that can supply parts:
Forced Performance
Deadbolt
Hahn Racecraft

Have you asked Andy Forrest nicely?

Also, you do know some machining work is required on the CHRA?

Andrew...diy TD05/18G

Still planning - but as you know I'm not in any rush.

Current planning to get the whole bottom end balanced and use forged pistons -probably Wiseco +0.5 (gives me another 25cc )

The 20G parts are not just bolt on.

As it has been mentioned, parts of the TD05 need to be machined to get the TD06 parts to fit. Then it would be recommended to have the core assembley balanced.

Last time I spoke to Hahn they weren't keen on shipping to the UK.

What about the 18G parts?

I know it would be harder to find a supplier of these, but would they not be any easier to bolt straight on, Mark?

What about the 18G parts?
Likewise with the 18G like Mark has already mentioned above - parts require machining to enable fitment

Cheers

18G and 20G wheels are exactly the same diameter, it's the depth of the exducer that's different.

Anyone who can supply 20G parts 'should' be able to supply 18G parts.

Machining required is to increase the diameter of the recess in the the front of the CHRA where the back of the comp wheel sits, these 2 photo's might help:

Whilst modifying and rebuilding a TD series turbo is very doable as a DIY project, it does require a certain amount of understanding of what you are doing and care, if unsure let the professionals do it. If it goes wrong it will more than likely damage more than the turbo itself.
