Expect some problems with a cheap 12 year old import as with any old car.

What probs you had so far?

Unhappy

Hi BOB, its a 93 Classic Import, well she died on me on Friday gone, had to call the AA!, ah well he reckoned it was the coil packs. He took one of the spark plugs out (not that old) and it was pretty dark, now I ran the error codes and its saying engine coolant sensor and MAF sensor. Ive got a new engine coolant sensor on the way from Subaru Dealer, think ill start there first.

Ive replaced the Knocklink and also thrown a new thermostat in there. But now shes sitting there, it will turn over but wont start.

Im gona take the plugs out and clean em' up on Thursday when i get the new engine coolant sensor and hope for the best!. Reset the ECU. My mate is gona throw his MAF in just to see what happens, if i can get it there!!!

I was expecting a bit of sh*t but its one after the other at the moment.

I can see a new MAF and maybe coil pack. watch this space. Ive just splashed out on the car so im a bit skint til end of the month, ah well!!!

Sounds like minor jobs really, as expected on a 12 year old car.

Hope you get it sorted.

Turning but not starting sounds like a crank position sensor.

turning and not starting is in most cases is knackered fuel pump, to be honest in all cases i have seen its turned out to be the fuel pump

hope this helps guys

best way to check is to listen for a buzz from the rear seat area when the ignition is switched on, it should last for around 2 seconds if the pump is working.

this is a common problem with the early classic pump
