over boosting????

Default over boosting????

just started on sunday car seems to boost up to 1.5 then cuts the fuel (that brick wall thing) does anyone know why or how to sort it out cause it doing my head in.the car is a 97 type r with hks filter,hks fmic, bailey dump valve, full samco hose set and a 3" system from turbo back.any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Try cleaning all your boost pipes as we had the same problem on our 97 wagon. Oil can get into some of the boost pipes and this can cause the hitting the brink wall feeling. Also clean your boost solenoid on the drivers side strut,this can help the problem so it clears your pipes. we have been recommended to clean the pipes every week because its an older car.

I had this problem with a 97 Sti as well - very similar mods to you as well! Got it re-plumbed but still didn't solve problem


Eventually I ran a Blitz BC set at 1.25bar and then got it checked out on the RR at Power Engineering - all fine - never lit knocklink beyond green in Optimax + Millers.
