Is it normal for a MY05 Sti Type UK engine to have a bit of tappet noise on tickover. Its not the boost solenoid. You can hear it coming from the engine manifold area.? Its not very noisy or anything but you can hear it.

one of mines a bit noisey, but thats a classic.....

 

I have an MY05 STI PPP and I think it sounds tappety (always have) I recon it's the injectors. It hasn't got any worse so I live with it. If it does get worse though it's straight down the dealership.

 

check your leads mate i had an impreza sport 96 with the same noise like tappets it turned out to be a dodgy lead on the spark plug
