Spray Paint - How to ?
I've sprayed things before with my can of Halfrauds special paint (orange wedges etc), and they've all turned out great.
Using the same can (so I know the colour's good) I tried to spray some white plastic and the results are a little dissapointing
The paint has stuck well enough, but to get the white covered the layers of dark green have become black.
Q1. Should I rub down & repaint this time using a primer ?
Q2. If so whats the correct colour / type of primer for dark green mica paint onto white plastic ?
Thanks for any help - its appreciated
Chris

Use a plastic primer as this will flex with the plastic and stop the paint from cracking.
Your paint supplier should recommend the correct colour primer.
How big is the item you want to spray / what is it? Because to be honest, if you were unsure of the above to start with you will probably make a dogs dinner of anything big (spoiler/skirts/bumpers etc) and would only be wasting your money on cans of spray. If you are unsure, leave it to the experts, and do without the stress and expense of getting it wrong.

Thanks for the reply.
I've cut up my PIAA covers to insert a clear plastic sheild (saves me getting out of the car to use them).
The plastic was a wax type so I roughed up the surface allowing the paint to adhere. The total area is just the remaining outer rim, so its not a massive spray job.
Anybody know the best colour of primer for dark green mica ?

I'd say grey is favourite. IIRC Red, white and grey are the only options. White is used for light colours, red is used for obviously pink / red / maroon colours and grey for everything else.

Plasticote (sp?) primer works very well on all the plastic (and a few other..!) surfaces I've used it on and comes in grey (as said above). Available from Halfrauds IIRC ~£6 a 500ml can.
