Default Where can I get a RPM reading from?

I am fitted a clifford avantguard 5 to my 2005 wrx and I need to fit a wire to a RPM reading, where the hell can I find that, I have been told that maybe one of the three wires coming out of the alternator may give me a reading. Can anyone help

I would think that there is probably a wire that goes into your ecu unit which contains the rpm signal so It should be a matter of splicing the wire into that signal. I dont know which wire going to the ecu it is though but someone will probably be able to answer that for you soon.
