Default Lambda sensors

What is the symptoms of a faulty Lamda. I broke mine last night when I had the downpipe off. I've fitted another Bosch sensor from a metro of all things and the car seems to run fine. I don't fancy paying Subaru prices for what is a standard component and was wondering if this one would be ok.
Cheers Jamie

Symptoms:

Lumpy off-boost
Running rich
Idle change

Subaru actually dont overcharge for the item as its basically the same price from Bosch outlets I believe

I know what your saying, but this one seems to work fine for now. As long as the car doesn't start displaying any erratic symptoms I'm happy to leave it until I've got time to get a new one.
