Default ic water spray

hello i have a version 4 type r with the ic water spray, i'm not sure if its working, it has the auto function which lites up when on & the manual button when pressed i can hear a click of a relay towards the glove box, is there any way to test if its working when stationary?

i assume it only works when moving at a set rpm?

i have pulled the pipes apart & sucked up the water & blown thru the jets no blockages, the tank has water in it so, i'm now stuck.

where abouts is the pump, so i can see if the wires have come off?

any help guys

Easy!

I don't have an auto setting on mine, but when i push the button (with the bonnet up) a load of water gets sprayed (it's timed ~2 seconds) from the jets in the bonnet scoop.

If you put yours on manual mode the same will happen. If it's working. Auto mode looks at boost level/inlet temperature so will only work when driving along.

The pump is located at the bottom of the water resevoir.

While being on the I/C topic, I have also got a problem with mine. There is a loose pipe under my bonnet just hanging around and fires out the water after pressing the I/C button. Does anyone know where exactly that little hose is suppose to be connect to?

Cheers

satpink,
yes, the pump is mounted on the side of the resevoir at the bottom. It looks like a window washer pump (probably is the same) and has (on mine) one electrical connection, and one pipe leading to the bonnet.

SCOO8Y,
Does water come from both jets in the bonnet scoop?
One pipe comes from the water resevoir, it goes round the back of the engine and fixes to the under side of the bonnet. It is then split into two by a Y-piece and these two pipes feed the jets inside the bonnet scoop.
