Hi guys. I am looking at buying an APEXI AVC-R digital boost controler. Will I be able to raise the fuel cut level with this unit or will I need a fuel cut defender as well? I have fitted a manual boost controler and although it works great (earlier and faster spool up) The fuel cut is like hitting a brick wall. Any help would be great. Cheers. Mark.

 

hi mate, i have had a hks evc 5 boost control fitted, results were superb, but i had it done professionally and then remap my hks ecu. obviously professional installation is the safest and in my opinion you dont wont to be messing with these motors if your not 100% sure on what youir doing.

 

It doesnt raise the fuel cut just allows you to tailor the boost to how you want it delivered.
IMHO I wouldnt bother with a fuel cut defencer as the fuel cut is there for a reason, ie the engine is not getting enough fuel for the boost at the fuel cut level, so bypassing this is asking for trouble and a big bill!

 

I agree. Without using it in conjunction with the Power FC to enable the adjusting of the fuelling you could be asking for trouble by running too lean.

Thank you guys. I think a remap with boost raised to 1.2 bar with fuel cut to suit. Will the scoobyecu chip do this? Cheers. Mark.
