Took my 93 ra for a quick blast today. When i returned i noticed smoke coming from the front. When i lifted the bonnet it seemed to be coming from the right side exshaust under the head, could it be a leaky rocker cover gasket? as its in that area. Only happens when you really hammer it then park up.
Any idea's chaps

Yeah, it is a bit tight but it's not too bad a job. I also used liquid gasket (use 'just' enough) on the lower half as an extra precaution.

I think mine might be the same
Anyone got any instructions as to how to fix this or how much it would cost to get someone else to do it? Is it a long job?

My STi4 did this the other day, turned out to be a cam seal, but alerted me to some play in the cambelt pulley wheel thingys. Probs turned out a lot cheaper than the possibly imminent cam belt failure

I also had a leaking cam seal, if you have a look at the bottom of the cam belt cover you`ll be able to see where the oil is coming from quite easily, as with mine the bottom of the rocker cover was dry, but the bottom of the cam cover was wet with oil.

Did my cam cover seals recently, then did them again when they still leaked!
Solution, removing and resealing the 2xhalf moon shaped bungs under each Camcover. They are a hard material and sealed in place with a suitable flexi sealant.
Dont forget each camcover includes an outer gasket and two inner gaskets around each plug hole.
You'll need to remove the washer bottle to access the NS cover; and the air filter housing to access the OS. Then its a reasonably easy job.
