Default radiator fluid leaking but dont know where??

As above really noticed it on the bonnet and around left hand side headlight , the radiator fluid is fine ?. so im confused really to where it might be coming from. I wiped it up the other day and drove to work with the heat on full and it was fine but then i tryed it on cold and it happened again?. im a little lost to what is happening i cant see any leaks anywhere ?, the only other thing is the rad is on the way?, out but coolant levels are normal ?.

Any ideas guys and gals ?.

Cheers Dan

the expansion tank has an overflow behind the headlight..

It is probably removing water to get to a working volume of water.. as long as it doesn't push it all out then it is normal.

slight water leak

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok guys im back, ive got the oil thing and boost solenoid sorted now another problem..
after a moderate to hard drive i pull up the drive and let it idle .while its idling i notice steam from under the bonnet, as i look under the bonnet there is water to the left (as you look at it) of the radiator on the pastic bits. i cant seem to narrow it down more than that at the moment, i think its on the radiator but not totally sure.
my question is what would be the best rad seal to use to try and eliminate this.
i understand it better to change radiator or pipes or whatever it may be, but not got the funds at the minute after many other nasty little jobs.

thanks

chris

found the above on a search i think its the rad after reading that because its the same problem that i have with mine !!!.

Sounds like what happened to me a couple of months ago, what had happened was the plastic end tank of the radiator had split (about 3cm long) and coolant would escape when the car was fully warmed up (as the pressure of the cooling system was at its highest).

It didn't leak when first started up or when it had been sitting for a while so it was quite hard for me too find out where it was coming from.

Leave your car idling until the fans come on and see if you can see anything.

Second that exactly the same happened to me the plastic tanks perish. As Normski said warm the car up and wait for the pressure to build up. Take the grille off helps.

Default me too

I had exactly the same prob yestersday.

Went up to Alton towers. Got caught up in the usual traffic on the way out and then about 10 minutes later I pulled into a service station and noticed steam coming out. Looked around and then spotted the crack in the left had plastic end of the rad...

Anyone know where I can get a new one for an STI 3?
