Default WRX01 Performance Problem

I have a problem where sometimes the Car will not run as quick when i first set out in the morning... But then when i restart the car in the afternoon it runs quicker ... More Boost alot more responsive...

The Car has a downpipe. And i now have a standard airbox ..!

I have changed the Maf and have not noticed a difference ...

Its been in to Subaru for A Diagnostic and had 2 items on there

1. Maf Sensor problem == I have replaced
2. A/F Sensor Problem

Does anyone know where the a/f sensor is and can it cause Performance problem....

Are you letting the engine warm up properly before booting..?

Not sure about MY01 but the ECU on later newage cars limits the boost until the temps are up where they should be.

Not that you should be ragging it until then anyway..!

Just a thought

Hi, Yeah i give it time to warm up, Drive for atleast 10 minutes before giving it some.... Its not a problem with Boost... It feels like the Ignition timing is retarding .... The boost is ok....

But what driving is that 10 minutes - pootling along at 20mph is very different to driving onto a motorway. It could still take a bit longer than that, potentially...

did you have the ecu reset aswell? If you did the ecu will take time to learn your style of driving again.
I had the same 2 probs on my MY01wrx as what you did, then had ecu reset by the garage and at first the car run crap then it will slowly get better as time goes by.
If your maf or air flow sensor were f**ked your car would be sat on your drive at home, because when mine went along with no4 coil pack the car totally shut down to crawl home mode.

hope this helps in some way,

paul.

Thanks Peeps

Its definetly a Retard timing problem... Because when its warm it starts to move like a rocket... I have spoken about the problem with WRC Technologies who are gonna ECUTEK Remap The car, And try and Map out most of my problems,,... Will have to take it in to My Garage and get the Fuel pump swapped over To A Warlboro uprated one... Booked it in for This Friday...
