What bhp/torque have you got from your 2.5's?
Just curious what people out there have achieved from there 2.5's... as will be sending my engine to Teg sport early next year to start work on the 2.5 rebuild....
What bhp/torque have you got from your 2.5's?
And what mods have been done?

Suggest you go to Projects section also and do some searches on '2.5'
Mild seems to give 400x380 ish with a TD05 20g + support mods + mild cheque
Wild seems to give 540 x 450 ish with rotated Garrett + support mods + big cheque
Depending on the car, a gearbox will be needed and always a better than stock clutch.
If you are lucky one of the '2.5' guys will respond, John Banks in particular. Search on that name.

You'll get more results, info, specs etc for the 2.5 if you look on the Nasioc website. Plenty info there to have a think about.

Hope Alans ok with me posting this.
Slight punch of 1.4bar before 4000rpm, dropping to 1.2 bar at 4400rpm. Standard Injectors maxed out at raised fuel pressure.
2.5 uprated internals, STI7 JDM heads, TD06 based turbo.
New injectors will be going in once Scott Lawson delivers to Alan (2 weeks now ), then its 1.4/1.5bar to redline!

Why does everyone seem to think that the 2.5 is such a good engine to tune?
(well to a certain point )
If you look, the most powerful ones out there are either 2ltr or 2.33 and there is a reason for it

Don't under estimate the effect of torque ! A good 2.5lt, even with the same bhp as a 2.0lt, should kick the 2.0lt's backside.

In theory I'd agree with you Mark but in practice it has not been the case. Maybe the extra torque off the line make the start more difficult, or they don't rev as freely ? not sure why they don't shine.
Stevens 2.5 in the same car/driver/mapper as his 2.0 didn't deliver as expected iirc. John Banks 2.5 with some 100+ bhp more than Tuk's 2.0 was barely a few 10's quicker.

I think gearing, lag and speed of gearshift explain a lot between T-uk's car and my old 2.5 setup. On the road up to silly speeds there was nothing between them with each of us driving our own cars, similar on the strip except the 2.5 terminals were higher - 121mph a couple of times and more 120mphs, ET never reflected that though. So always a driver's race, and the better driver won/made up a power deficit.
A TD05 on a 2.0 is still the benchmark all rounder for me.
