yes it will fit and it isn't a hard job, you need to cut down the clutch res neck, bend or make some brackets and find some way of fitting a dumpvalve.

the rest is straight forward

The pipes are for the engine breathers on the later cars, just unbolt them!!

Edited to add, that doesn't look like an STI i/c to me, more like a WRX one, which is what i recently fitted to my my00 aswell........Don't be fooled by the fact that mine is black, thats the way i wanted it!!

Well, i fitted the WRX one as it seemed to be the best for 'my' requirements, those being; i wanted it to look near standard, and not be too much grief to fit.
One thing worth thinking about is the fact that if you go for the STI one, you simply don't get enough air through the bonnet scoop to get the best out of it, whereas the WRX one is not massive in comparison with the original i/c, but, being aluminium and of a slightly more open design, it gives better cooling, i would go the way i have again if i wasn't aiming for BIG numbers, simply due to the ease of fitment, and the fact that you can keep a strut brace........

It's your choice, but the oine i have suites my needs......

I made my own strut brace. I retained forge recirc dump valve but had to do a bit of cut and weld. the vta one is a lot shorter so should fit with new age flange.

After a little more digging around, it seems that it defo isnt an Sti cooler.

But definately a 2001 onward one.

Being honest, with the level of mods i`m planning, an Sti one probably wouldnt be warranted. And i`m not keen on changing to a larger scoob to get the air-flow.

So may just buy it and see.

Right, i have a my00, with full decat, Standard TD05 turbo, WRX intercooler, Tek 3 ecu, K&N induction kit, running 1.3bar at the moment, was just last week on the rollers and made 287bhp at a mere 53?? revs, due to a det problem, caused by fuel..... but it had 305lbft from 2700 to 39?? ....... and that will increase once i have the right fuel and fuel pump fitted...... So, unless you're aiming higher than low 300's then go for the WRX intercooler, it's so easy to fit it's sily not to if it's cheap... i paid 70 quid for it off ebay, and another fiver for a dump valve.....

Excellent Ron.

Cheers.

Not aiming for even 300 to be honest, (although it would be nice) but the standard tmic really is knackered...so may aswell upgrade.

I`m presuming its a straight swap then ? Seeing as its not as big as the Sti job.

What about brackets ?

You can use the standard my00 hoses, but i used fitting this as an excuse to buy samco's, the biggest difficulty was the pipe from the my01 dumpvalve back to the inlet pipe, but on reflection i should have just gone to a dealers and bought the standard item for a my01, that should fit fine that way....
bracket wise, i made a small bracket to bolt to the existing turbo side bracket, (easy!!) and used the my01 one on the other side with another bracket (read..... straight piece of metal with 4 holes......) to hold it on. You could always try to get a my01 bracket for the turbo side, that waould bolt straight on, but the holes for the other side have been changed, so you have to make something upo for that side anyway...... you need to be a little flexible, as it needs to be fairly tight to the throttle body, but not so tight that the dumpvalve hits the coil pack.......

Hope this helps!!
