MAF vs MAF (5 electrical contacts vs 4 electrical contacts)
Heres one for the experts !
The local Subaru dealer supplied a MAF for a MY00 classic with 5 electrical contacts, the wiring harness only has 4 contacts and the MAF in the car had 4, the MAF with 5 electrical contacts lasted exactly 500kms. Yet looked exactly the same apart from this and 2 copper contacts - small on the outside of the MAF itself)
whats up ? has Subaru got its part codes mixed up ? or was that a normally aspirated MAF ?
any suggestions / ideas will be of great help and maybe if any of you have early maf failures please count the electrical contacts to see if this is the problem
