Are you wanting to compare a open neck d/p with a PPP downpipe? You lost me at the 'seperate wastegate' bit.

I think that he means a twin pipe design that several people still sell.

im fairly sure that it could be modified to remove that? as it just seems tobe a kind of deflector?

Neil,
This is why I asked you which one you got hold of:

That's a VF35 exhaust housing "lined up" with the 1st gen Prodrive sports cat with separated wastegate and exhaust tubes.
Note the exhaust pipe doesn't line up particularly well with the turbine exit port. I suppose the exhaust tube can be flaired to make it better.
There was a NASIOC thread some months ago from Simon Lines saying that the new gen sports cat performed better than the first, the misalignment above may be one reason.

Here's a 1st gen model:

Looks like an open neck with a splitter. Could be easily removed by the look of it.

id better get my home porting kit dusted off then!! Im sure that we wont be talking a massive amount of difference power wise although i stand to be corrected on that.

No matter, at least now i stand a chance of passing an MOT!

About to modify my Jap sport cat 3'' d/pipe to open neck from twin pipe.
The new one pictured is a Prodrive d/pipe for sale cheap on Ebay for new age cars.

I'm really not sure if it all makes that much difference (?)

Graham.
