Power FC On UK Car
I have just fitted an Apexi Power FC to my UK Impreza, all powers up but the car will not start, is there an issue with the factory fit immobiliser that I am missing or does the Power FC need to be set up/mapped to start the car, apparantly it is supposed to come with a base map, any info would most welcome !

Think I have read on here about the imobiliser issue before, do a search.
Although the power fc comes with a base map, if you got it from japan, i believe it is optimised for their fuel so 100 octane so if you got it running really wouldnt advise driving on boost until it is remapped. I may be wrong on that but again I am sure I read it on here just a few days ago.

what year?
you need to swap the crank and cam sensor wires over and immobiliser / fuel pump wire is 97-98.
the base map is not suitable for uk fuel.. you are most likely to damage the engine driving it on the base map.

Do you know the location of the wires in the plugs on the ECU?
Only want to start the car to make sure the ECU is O.K
Going to get it professionally mapped once I have sorted final spec of engine

You need to swap the crank and cam pins on B136 (22way connector) pin 8 & pin 10, they are reversed to prevent you just swapping a UK ECU for a JDM one because the timing and fueling is so different.
you then need to move the fuel pump relay pin, which is on B137 (26 way connector) swap between pin 7 and 17.
medium hassle to swap and then swap back, might be better left for when it is mapped.

Which do you want me to remove so that you can fit whatever you fit?
top one please - regarding downpipe bung. I have a nice big ring spanner and a can of WD40 if you have trouble.
Thanks

We also map PowerFCs but have the benetfit of a fully equiped workshop, a stock of Subaru spares should you need coil packs etc. Perhaps most important of all, we are fully insured, which is something you should think about in the unlikely event that a mapping mishap inadvertently causes third party damage (which could happen to any mapper).

I also have insurance.
Authorised Advertiser pending.
and keep a number of spares.
I fail to see why I should be justifying myself and I am unsure if I have managed to annoy you some how Paul, but presume you post was purely to try and undermine me.
Thanks

I'm not trying to undermine you, I'm just trying to earn my living the same as you. It's a competitive market place, and I need to add as much value as I can to my services. If I am able to say these things in public without a moderater breathing down my neck, then that's value for money on my spend with scoobynet.

I suspect we should take this conversation off-line Paul.
