i have a engine out of sti type ra out of a 96. thinking of having it stripped and rebuilt using forged parts andone got an idea what sort of spec it is now how much its worth as it is only had 34k on it.is it worth doing this or should i sell it and forge thwe engine i have that still in my car running stronng

It should (could) have forged pistons but you can never tell what the early cars have in them. If you're thinking of going the pistons and rods route, then the RA will have a close deck block which will make a better base than the more normal open deck block. I would use the RA heads if you have the whole engine, and so in many respects it is the better engine to start with.

Only the STI RAs, and even then, maybe only on tuesdays....
