New owner - any suggestions
I'm proud to say that I'm the new owner of an STI 8 (PPP) and firstly can I say what a fantastic car it is. I previously owned a Pulsar and it's a bit of a change.
There are however just a few queries perhaps someone can help me with...
1. I want to change the current alloys (17") and am looking to replace them with 18's. What are the pro's and cons between the two sizes ? I'm sure this question has been raised before but I couldn't see anything obvious without going back loads of pages.
2. I have noticed a minor hesitancy when pulling away in first from standstill and rolling starts in second. Is this generic or are there some obvious pointers. Things like spark plugs and dizzy caps spring to mind ? Although I did buy it from a Vauxhall garage where they had been running it on 95 RON for the last 2 weeks. Any ideas ?
3. What's the score with servicing. Do most people retain the 'Subaru' stamp in their log books and use main dealers or are there recommended people out there who can do just as good a job for less the cost. Have never owned a Subaru before so don't know how to tackle this. Are there any specialists in or around Southampton ?
Thanks for your help. Think I'm going to enjoy owning the car.
Tim.
