Question IHI P18 and P20 exhaust housings ??

Hi ,

Can anybody tell me if the wastegate port and penny are bigger on the P20 exhaust housing compared to a P18 housing ???
If so can a P20 housing be fitted to a VF28 ??

Thanks .

Both the same, and the P18/P20 should be swappable. It's always worth checking the exhaust wheel for clearance, incase there are any manufacturing tolerance issues.

So what is the difference between the housings ?
I have already had the P18 housing ported but still suffer from boost creep on my 2.5 , Would ther be any benefit from fitting a ported P20 housing ??

cheers

When you say ported, where on the housing has it been ported ? A P20 will help a bit, but I would expect that to need correctly porting too.

If you disconnect the actuator hose, do you still get boost creep ?

Hi Mark ,
How have you been , long time no speak !!
The waste gate exit port and housing inlet has been matched to the up-pipe and was done by TweenieRob , forgot to say it is a VF 28 in case you hadn't guessed .
Have to try it without the actuator connected yet , using a Dawes device for boost control at the mo !!

try without the hose, and let me know if it works. May need some more porting.

Also, been meaning to get hold of you ! Will speak soon.
