Folks,
Just been phoning around to price a service for my P1 - one main dealer (a highly recommended one at that), says that they use the above engine oil in all Subarus.
Its a semi-synthetic oil, but from reading past posts, the view on here is fully synthetic all the way.
Is semi-synthetic simply not up to the job? If not why would a dealer use it?
Does it matter what the current oil type is i.e. is it safe to switch types from synthetic to semi-synthetic and vice versa?
All views and advice welcome.
Thanks.

Semi sythetic is fine...it is just the bare minimum reccomendation, based on anticipated driving style and service intervals.
Drive the car hard, or mod it, (or do 5mile journeys everyday), then you will need to change it more often. Alternatively, use a fully synthetic and stick with the normal schedule. (or go for overkill and do both).
