I have a my00 classic and i am going to fit a td05 soon. Has anyone changed there td04 to a td05 and run it without a remap, if so how much difference did it make and did things run ok. A remap will be done at some point in the future either way.
Cheers in advance

There is a guy on here that got 380ish bhp from standard my98 (I think) could have been a 97. Standard turbo ecu injectors etc so it can be done.
I did a search but can't remember where I saw it.
I intend doing the same as you but wont be till next year now. I will monitor det and afr's though

Working on it - Check you facts exactly before posting.
Rich Wild did something like that but he used fuel controllers and boost controllers to achieve this. It was not just a case of bolting on and flooring it.

get off your high horse m8.
If the guy wants the exact facts he would need to do a search. If i found the thread I would have sent him in that direction.

WOI - No offence intended mate, but I know someone who did precisely that and wondered why he blew his engine.
So just safeguarding someone else![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Peace.

I fitted a TD05 to my own car (MY00) and ran it @ 1 Bar, with raised fuel pressure on the standard AE802 for a few months with no issues at all.
Obviously monitoring AFR's with a Wideband and detonation events.
Raising the fuel pressure is a bit of a 'fudge' as it obviously increases fuelling across the entire map, but if you are getting correct AFR's at full boost and load, and not getting any detonation events, then it will be safe(ish)![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I recently set up another car in an identical way, which made 295bhp on the rollers - ( MY99, exhaust and air filter, TD05, bleed valve @ 17psi, 3.5 Bar static fuel pressure)
Obviously a remap is advisable to optimise the individual setup and provide a bit more of a safety margin, but it's definately not the ONLY way of doing it
