I Believe the ebay headers you are referring to split because they are not slip jointed. I would go for the Gruppe-S headers or similar, there is a group buy here. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=450544

how can u t ell the difference between equal length headers and un equal ? dose the pipe work wrapp round itself on the equal length ones ? plus is it equal length ones that make a scooby sound like a super bike when the car is @ high revs ?

Default equal length

ive got the equal length ones on my car. they twist and turn through more bends to make them all equal length. they give you **** loads more torque. i gained loads when i had it mapped and yes it sounds like a gsxr on steroids!

Fitting tubular headers will lift the spool point, typically by 350 rpm. Ultimate top end power will be a little more.
A lot depends on what you want to achieve and if you are not running a bigger after market hybrid turbo, then porting your O/E headers is probably the best option and pretty cost effective for the gains achieved.

The improved gas flow will weaken the AFR but not by a signifigant amount unless other mads are done.

To clarify because it is important, my comments relate to ported O/E headers.
I would not fit tubular headers without a remap because the characteristics are changed so much you could cause yourself a problem and at the least you will not get the best out of the modification.
Be careful because there are some duff aftermarket headers out there.
